A lot of robots and weapons have special abilities/effects. As soon as an ability is activated or a special effect is triggered, a corresponding icon appears above the robot. These icons give you and other players a better understanding of what's going on on the battlefield. The same icons can be found in the robots/equipment descriptions. This guide will help you understand them better. Here is what you can come across on the battlefield:
The icons on the battlefield can be either red or blue:
— your opponents activated Stealth mode.
— one of your team members is in Stealth mode.
— your opponent uses Quantum Radar.
Sometimes icons can be white, half-red, and fully red. This is how the accumulation mechanics works. Once you start firing a weapon with special effect and the first projectile hits the target the accumulation process begins and a white icon indicating a respective effect appears above a robot. For example:
— The first lock-down projectile has just hit the target.
— Lock-down effect starts accumulating.
— Lock-down effect has been applied.
— If an enemy robot has a blue lock-down, suppression, or freeze icons over its head, it means the robot is immune to the effect.
Other effects with accumulation mechanics:
— Damage over time (DoT).
— Freeze.
— Suppression.
Blue icons generally indicate effects or abilities that strengthen a robot while red ones show negative effects. The icons you see on the battlefield coincide with modules and abilities icons.
— Death mark.
— Last Stand.
— Anticontrol cooldown.
— Overdrive Unit.
— Damage reduction. A robot with this icon above its turret receives less damage.
— Reflector shield. For the duration of the ability, the robot/titan has a protection that partially blocks received damage and redirects it to the one dealing it. Reflector does not fully protect the robot, however, it cannot be mitigated.
— Repulse (Leech ability. The robot activates its defense system then establishes a connection with an oponnent robot and redirects part of the incoming damage to it).
Here is a pretty intense battle scene. We can see 2 icons above the robot we attack. The blue one indicates the active Reflector shield and the second one shows us the accumulation process of the lock-down effect. Both icons are duplicated on the right-hand side of the screen. You can see all the effects applied to your robot on the left-hand side of the screen. Here we have Damage over time and Freeze.
