Defense mitigation is a characteristic that allows to reduce target’s Defence Points by a certain percentage. It has no effect on shields and it doesn't affect damage dealt to target with no Defence Points. In combat, it is indicated by a bold damage marker.
As an example:
- A target with 100 Defence Points;
- 10% Defence Mitigation.
In this situation, 10% Defence Mitigation is equivalent to fighting a target with 10% less Defence Points (100*0.9=90 Defence Points). Only a Defence mitigation source deals increased damage to a target: all other damage sources (your or other players’ equipment without Damage mitigation) deal damage as usual.
- Defence Mitigation cannot exceed 100%;
- Multiple Defence Mitigation sources work independently of one another. For instance, if you have two Retaliators (one with a 50% Defence Mitigation and another with a 60% effect), each will reduce a target’s Defence by its respective value independently (50%—for Retaliator 1 and 60%—for Retaliator 2) but the overall mitigation effect will not stack;
- All Titans’ weapons have Defence Mitigation characteristics.
