Lock down is an immobilizing gameplay mechanics. Locked-down robots can’t move, jump, or dash but they can keep shooting and use other abilities and modules. For instance, a locked-down Ao Jun can take off using its ability but it won’t be able to fly any further. What is capable of locking down:
- Lock down active module. When the module is active first shot to hit a target has a 100% chance to immobilize it for a few seconds;
- Weapons with a lock down effect. They use effect-accumulation mechanics. After a certain number of hits the robot will be locked-down for a few seconds;
- Special abilities of specific robots (Typhon, for instance).
The effect accumulation is activated when projectiles with a lock-down effect hit a robot directly. Depending on the damage type, a shield can either protect you from projectiles and the immobilized state or not. For instance, all energy projectiles bypass energy shields but they will not go through physical shields. If you have the battle statuses settings on you can see the lock down effect icon getting red with each hit. At the time it is completely red your opponent gets immobilized.
Anticontrol removes the effect.
