Some robots have a special characteristic that allows lessening of damage taken. It is called damage reduction/mitigation and it is expressed by defense points. A certain amount of defense points corresponds to the percentage the damage is reduced by.
Stacking Defense points is subject to the so-called ‘diminishing returns’, where at some point it becomes less effective and beneficial:
NOTES:
- If you have several sources of Defense points, they are simply summed up. For instance, a Falcon (150 Defense points) with an Adamant Guardian pilot’s skill (25 Defense points), would give you 175 Defense points, or 64% damage mitigation;
- Damage reduction and Defense points are not to be confused with robot’s durability. Durability is a representation of robot’s durability points (HP, or hit points);
- Corrosion damage negates any damage reduction entirely.
