There are two types of pilots: Regular and Legendary.
Legendary pilots have their own unique names, appearance, biographies, and most importantly, a unique legendary skill. It is more powerful than ordinary skills and it is strictly connected with the pilot's biography. Legendary skill is tied to a pilot and it cannot be swapped out. It's an extra skill that doesn't occupy any of the ordinary skill slots, making total slots of eight:

Regular pilots, too, can have up to seven ordinary skills as well but lack a legendary skill.

- replacing a skill with a random one: there's a chance a new random skill will be tier 4.
Regular pilot's skill tier cannot be higher than 3.
Legendary pilots’ icons in the Training Center have a yellow background and the unique skill is also highlighted in yellow. Legendary pilots are rare and more expensive to hire.
You appoint and upgrade both types of pilots the same way. You can have several identical legendary pilots in your hangar.
